About Theatre For The Community:
TFC is a new semi-professional company founded by Steve Cramer, a veteran of hundreds of amateur and professional stage productions around the region and in NYC. When forming the company, he was concerned about gathering such a diverse group of seasoned and interning actors (professional, amateur, and volunteers alike) under the "community theatre" banner. Finally, a simple thought spoken aloud of what he wanted—the very reason for creating a new company: "It's not 'community theatre'...it's Theatre for the Community!" And so it was.
Our first production in November 2004 was Thornton Wilder's Our Town, that classic masterpiece of American theatre, which was so perfect for an intimate venue like The Cramer Center. Buoyed by that critical success, it was decided that a more ambitious project could be undertaken, and so auditions began for Arsenic and Old Lace.
Future plans include staged readings and workshops, theatre camps, and other main stage productions—all performed in The Cramer Center's own unique theatre space.
Would YOU like to help?
All of the theatrical organizations performing at the Center are staffed almost entirely of volunteers from our community. In addition, various Special Events occur which raise much-needed funds to assist people from all walks of life throughout the City of Manassas and Prince William County. Even the actors appearing on stage often volunteer much additional time fundraising, preparing mailings, and building sets and costumes. So many times an extra set of hands or a word of advice makes such a difference. Would YOU like to get involved? Just email us at the Cramer Center, or call us at (703) 257-1572 and leave a message.
You are invited to participate in transforming our Center into a vibrant home for Theater and the Arts in Manassas. You can show your support by attending events, volunteering your time or just giving a little encouragement to those who have been making this project a reality.
